Our Mission & Vision

To achieve equity for all women in the workplace through advocacy, education and information.

A MESSAGE FROM OUR PRESIDENT

The theme of our club is to inspire ourselves and others to Do Good Things every day. It's a simple and easy call to action. Giving back to our community, supporting our neighboring businesses, and encouraging our fellow sisters are examples of how we can all make a difference.

When I joined Latrobe BPW five years ago, I quickly learned that this was more than a business and professional women's networking group. It was and is a true sisterhood of women helping women. I call it my "lady bonding" group and look forward to the fellowship every time we're together.

Do Good Things is woven into the fabric of our Collect. "Teach us to put into action our better impulses". How often have we thought I should help someone with something and never get around to doing it? Good thoughts are one thing but taking the time to do good things is more rewarding.  It can become our mantra and carved into our way of life. Through volunteering, fundraising activities and charitable donations, we strive to give back to the Latrobe, Derry and Unity Township area that we call home.

I invite you to Do Good Things and share this with your friends. I welcome you to become a part of our one great sisterhood.

BPW Collect

Keep us, Oh God, from pettiness.

Let us be large in though, in word, in deed.

Let us be done with fault-finding and

leave off self-seeking.

May we put away all pretense

and meet each other face to face

without self-pity and without prejudice.

May we never be hasty in judgment

and always generous.

Let us take time for all things;

Make us to grow calm, serene, gentle.

Teach us to put into action our better impulses,

straight-forward and unafraid.

Grant that we may realize it is the little things

that create differences, that in the big things

of life, we are at one.

And may we strive to touch and to know

the great, common human heart of us all.

And Oh Lord God, let us forget not to be kind.
